REdefinition is a group made up of 3 artists with a long history of musical collaboration. These artists are producers, Mecca83, Buscrates 16-bit Ensemble and emcee, DistantStarr. As a team, they have released a 7-track project titled, Bahia Affair, which is directly influenced by the sounds of 60's and 70's Brazilian music. You can expect to hear a blend of Bossa Nova inspired percussion, scratched vocal samples and chopped-up drums within the EP's production. The fourth track, Obrigado, is especially unique as the brass section takes the lead with some inventive, loosely improvised melodies. Of course, this project isn't without its lyrical moments. Overall, it's a quick, yet mellow journey. Worth the trip.
