Amerigo Gazaway is a 26-year-old Nasvhille producer who has garnered quite a reputation for his remixes and mash-ups, which more often than not, fall in the hip hop category. In this case, Amerigo combines the sounds of Marvin Gaye's Can I Get A Witness with Mos Def's classic, Ms. Fat Booty. Often, mash-ups have the tendency to fall flat but Amerigo's work seems to be as good, if not, better than some of the original works that he samples.You can be the judge of that.
Regardless, Amerigo has just released the Ms. Fat Booty remix along with a cool little music video. The track is part of his Mos Def/Marvin Gaye (Yasiin Gaye) series, Soul Mates, for which there are two sides: The Departure and The Return.
